If the Government of the Nation contributes the 6,000 million euros involved in the transfer of the Cercanías train network, the president of the Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, would be willing to take on this management, he has expressed, since he has announced which would mean a “revolution” of the railway network. Of course, the amount is non-negotiable: Pedro Sánchez must finance exactly the same amount as what he invests in Catalonia with Rodalíes.

It was at the beginning of the month when, in the State Debate of the Community, a proposed resolution from the Mixed Group-Adelante Andalucía was approved with votes in favor of the PP-A, Por Andalucía and Adelante Andalucía, urging the Government of the Junta to “request powers in local transport, as well as the corresponding associated financing, to implement an interconnection plan through the railway of all towns with more than 50,000 inhabitants in Andalusia.

Today, with a series of conditions, the Andalusian leader has committed to taking over the management. “If tomorrow the Government signs this amount to me, this Government also assumes the powers,” said Moreno Bonilla within the framework of the Plenary Session of the Parliament of Andalusia held today, Thursday.

“If the Government is capable of putting the same amount as Catalonia in an official document, and after a prior diagnosis of the Cercanías network, I am willing to assume it in a Bilateral Commission,” stated the Andalusian president about the call. of that body of dialogue between the State and the Government of Andalusia to proceed with that transfer.

Moreno has demanded “a firm commitment to prior financing” from the central Executive, which would be prior to receiving the railway infrastructure, “just like Catalonia”, he continued explaining.

In its list of demands, it has indicated rolling stock and personnel, that the operating deficit that occurs will be taken into account, as well as investments necessary for the multi-year maintenance of the infrastructure.
