Seven people allegedly belonging to Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist organization, have been detained in operations by the respective security services that took place in Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany. Both the Danish police services and the German prosecutor’s office indicated that these groups were planning to carry out attacks against the Jewish community in these countries.

The Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) did not want to give details. Only one of the arrests took place in the port city of Rotterdam (a Danish citizen named Nazih R) and three others on Danish soil. The detainees were linked to an organized group of criminals called Loyal To Familia (LTF), the police were unable to explain this link.

In recent days, Denmark has increased the level of anti-terrorist security from stadium 4 to 5, due to fear of anti-Semitic actions. The state of alert among the Jewish communities of these countries has increased after the massacre carried out by this organization on October 7 in the communities near the Gaza Strip.

An official statement from the Israeli Prime Minister confirmed the detainees’ membership in Hamas and indicated that “the Danish security and police services have arrested seven terrorists who were acting on behalf of the Hamas terrorist organization, foiling an attack that was intended objective to kill innocent civilians on European soil.

In Germany, according to the prosecutor’s office, of the three detained in Berlin, two of them, Abdelhamid Ai A and Ibrahim El-R, were of Lebanese nationality, while Mohamed B. was of Egyptian nationality. Abdelhamid would have supplied military material in Lebanon to be transported to Europe.

“After the terrible attacks by Hamas on the Israeli population, attacks on Jews and Jewish institutions have increased in our country in recent weeks,” explained German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann.
