A man accused of sexually assaulting a young woman, whom he met that same night at a party, in the bathrooms of the Pachá nightclub in Barcelona on May 2, 2022, accepted six years in prison this Thursday.
The accused, in provisional prison since June 2022, has acknowledged the facts this morning before the court of the sixth section of the Barcelona Court, which has issued a final sentence ‘in voce’ after the parties have reached an agreement in accordance that has prevented the trial from taking place.
The Prosecutor’s Office initially requested a total of ten years in prison for the accused for having forced the young woman, whom he met at a party, to enter a disabled bathroom and penetrate her anally despite her “firm opposition”, since “she did not allow of begging him to stop, that it hurt him a lot.
The defendant must also compensate the victim with 10,000 euros, and comply with the prohibition of approaching less than 1,000 meters or communicating with her for five years beyond the prison sentence, as well as respect a supervised release measure of 8 years.
According to the Prosecutor’s indictment, the victim was partying with two friends on the night of May 2, 2022 at the Pachá nightclub when the defendant, who was also accompanied by another boy, approached around 4:00 a.m. to engage in conversation with the young woman.
The public ministry maintains that the defendant insisted the victim wanted to be intimate with her, and finally she “agreed to give him a few kisses in the handicapped toilet of the nightclub, with the hope that after that he would stop bothering her.”
“Once inside the handicapped bathroom, the defendant, with a libidinous spirit, pounced on the victim, and turning her abruptly, raised her dress and lowered her stockings, trying to penetrate her from behind despite the firm opposition” of the young woman. , according to the prosecutor.
The young woman – the letter relates – “kept begging him to stop, because it was hurting her a lot,” although the accused, far from accepting the victim’s plea, grabbed her by the waist, lifted her to the sink, and wet her with water. the anal orifice and finally managed to penetrate her, without ejaculating.
The public ministry adds that a security guard arrived at the bathrooms of the nightclub, at which time the young woman took the opportunity to get rid of the defendant and seek help from the nightclub staff.
