For children, adults, grandparents, teenagers, young people… As a couple, as a family, alone, with friends… Del Clot, Sant Gervasi, Raval, Lleida, Massachusetts or Tokyo. The Barcelona Nadal Festival will offer (from December 16 to 29) 300 proposals for all audiences and all free.

The Nadal Festival revolves mainly around Plaza Catalunya with a daily program that will have three slots: the morning, more family-friendly, with activities and workshops; the afternoon, which will start with a daily session by Miqui Puig and a performance by The Gramophone All Stars Big Band and will continue with more dance, circus or tightrope walking performances and then music, giving wings to local artists such as Mazoni (Saturday the 16th at 7 p.m.), Tarquim (the 17th and the 22nd at 7 p.m.), Saphie Wells (the 18th and the 7th at 7 p.m.) or Alba Armengou (the 20th and 21st at 7 p.m.).

The concerts at 7 p.m. will continue with Dani Nel·lo

The morning activity will start every day at eleven with eight workshops designed for the little ones while the DJ duo Ssissterss plays quiet music in the background. In ‘Nadal Superveloz’ (from five years old), children will be able to make an original and unique Christmas greeting. ‘Face-o-Mat, an analog photo booth’ children (from one year old) will be able to get a Christmas souvenir with an illustration by Clara-Tanit Arqué, Martina Manyà, Pepón Maneses, Elisa Munsó or Mireia Pons. ‘Paisatges’ (for children between 3 and 5 years old) will be a play space, an oasis of tranquility in a small square within the large square.

‘Barcelona, ??a postcard from Nadal’, a mail art workshop for children from 3 years old; ‘La màquina dels records’, an emotional workshop for children from 6 years old, ‘La Capgrossada’ for dressing up (from 4 years old) and the literary workshop ‘La Fanzinoteca’ complete the children’s offering. The next time slot, from 6 to 7 p.m., will be for Lasala (on the 16th and 17th), Eléctrico 28 (on the 18th and 19th), Companyia de Circ ‘EIA’ (20th and 21st), The Gramophone Allstars Big Band, which changes to this strip on the 22nd and 23rd; Quim Bigas (on the 24th and 27th) and Sílvia Batet, on the 28th and 29th. Mariona Moya and Josep Pedrals will be the protagonists of the transition between the afternoon activities and the daily concert at 7 p.m.

The other big bet of the Nadal Festival will be the digital arts stage in Plaza Universitat. The proposal, original from Sónar, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, was developed by Glassworks with sound accompaniment by Tarta Relena. It is a large cylindrical piece three meters high and seven meters in perimeter, named Analema, which will project light, which at the same time will react to the light and which will launch light rays vertically at night.

In addition, until January 4, the Sons de Ciutat series of concerts in squares, cafeterias and markets continues, a cultural and commercial proposal that expands to the ten districts of the city with an offer of jazz, indie, classical, folk, pop , funk or electronic.
