A train on line S2 of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC) suffered a fire under the driver’s cabin last night after running over a wild boar at the height of the Universitat Autònoma (UAB) station, which forced traffic to be cut between Sant Quirze del Vallès and Sant Joan (Sant Cugat del Vallès).

As FGC sources informed EFE this morning, the incident occurred around 11 p.m., when a train on line S2 heading towards Plaza Catalunya ran over a wild boar near the UAB (Bellaterra, Cerdanyola del Vallès ), which caused a fire under the driver’s cab.

The passengers walked out of the incident train, which had been stopped a few meters from the UAB station, and waited there until, around 12:15 a.m., service was restored, with no possibility of alternative service by road.

The circulation, until the service could be restored, was cut off between the Sant Quirze del Vallès and Sant Joan stations.

FGC investigates the causes that caused the fire after the animal was run over.
