The General Commissariat for Immigration and Borders of the National Police has expelled to Pakistan 14 individuals who were detained on November 6 in the framework of Operation Sakina against an organization of Pakistani origin that glorified terrorist acts on social networks, it has been reported. the police force.
Seven of the arrests were in Barcelona, ??one in Lleida, another in Malaga, two in Gipuzkoa, two more in Valencia and one in Logroño. The operation was coordinated by the General Information Commissioner’s Office with the Information Brigades of Barcelona, ??Valencia, La Rioja, San Sebastián, Málaga, Lleida, Palma de Mallorca, Vitoria and Jaén.
Those arrested had allegedly become radicalized and adhered to a fundamentalist interpretation of the Koran, the holy book of Islam. Specifically, they were related to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), a radical Islamist movement with parliamentary representation in the Asian country that advocates the implementation of Islamic law and the execution of those accused of blasphemers.
Through their social networks they praise violence and idolize the terrorist actions committed by the followers of this organization, states the National Police.
“This radical group reveals a new type of serious threat to public security carried out by individuals, not linked to jihadist groups such as the Islamic State or Al Qaeda, but with a very intransigent and rigorous interpretation of religion,” says the National Police. it’s a statement.
This is not the first time that the National Police has aborted the attempt to establish violent cells related to the TLP in Spain. Already in 2021, in another similar operation, around twenty suspects were arrested, the vast majority in Catalonia, Barcelona and l’Hospitalet, as has happened now.
The expulsions have been carried out in accordance with article 54.1a of the Immigration Law, for their participation in activities contrary to National Security, after the corresponding files under the instruction, control and monitoring of the General Commissariat for Immigration and Borders. These very serious infractions carry as a sanction the expulsion and subsequent prohibition of entry into national territory.
The police investigation, supervised by the National Court, has been directed by the General Information Commissioner’s Office, but the different brigades have worked on the ground. In the case of Catalonia, the Barcelona court has been in charge of monitoring, listening and writing the reports of the detainees who will be brought before the court this Wednesday in the guard courts of Barcelona and l’Hospitalet.
