Love TV Channels, the Barcelona-based startup specialized in the production of FAST TV (free streaming television with advertising) thematic channels, celebrated its first anniversary this month. “This first year has been an exciting and rewarding journey for us,” said Teresa López, co-founder of the startup with Jacinto Roca, at an event to celebrate the anniversary of this project present in the main markets of Europe, the United States and Australia. .
“We have launched 13 television channels with localized and free premium content, but the most important thing is that we have built the foundation for the development of more channels, more distribution and more commercial opportunities starting in 2024,” added López, who advanced a new investment round “that will allow us to reinforce current channels with our own current production and create new channels, thus increasing collaboration opportunities with our partners.”
“The trend of FAST channels in the United States gives us a vision of the potential in Europe. FAST channels represent 30% of all ad views in the United States and 8% in Europe,” analyzed the vice president of media analysis at CRS Global, Gavin Bridge. He predicted “that the FAST model will continue its rapid rise in Europe, generating increasing revenues and establishing itself as a fundamental distribution format for the future.”
In this context, companies like Love TV Channels play “a fundamental role in the advancement of FAST in Europe; Its ability to adapt to the particularities of each European market, different from the US market, is crucial. Offering localized content allows them to reach diverse audiences across the continent,” he stated.
