The Premià de Dalt City Council (Maresme) has installed an ice rink on the Factory grounds that stands out for being a sustainable installation, since the water used to make the ice is ultimately returned to its place of origin. The track will be active until next January 7.
The La Pinassa municipal society has organized the ice rink thanks to the participation of sponsors and the sale of tickets. “It is a sustainable civic element” recalls the mayor, Josep Triadó, whose intention is to “build a town” and for the neighbors “to stay in Premià de Dalt and not go and buy from other municipalities.”
The mayor assures that residents will have discounts to opt for the track thanks to the collaboration of local establishments. Likewise, all schoolchildren in the municipality will also be able to skate for free.
The councilor for Green Environment and Sustainability, Marta Bosch, has detailed that the ice has been made with ground water from a well in La Cisa and that once the activity is finished “it will be crushed and returned to its place of origin” by that it is a sustainable closed circuit.
