The hate and discrimination crimes section of the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Valencia requests a sentence of four and a half years in prison for the former leader of Vox and president of Gobierna-te, Cristina Seguí, for the publication and dissemination of an alleged sexual assault. committed by five teenagers between 15 and 17 years old in the Valencian town of Burjassot, according to the provisional classification to which Europa Press has had access.
The public ministry attributes to Cristina Seguí a crime against moral integrity and another of discovery and revelation of secrets with the aggravating circumstance of gender. Along with the prison sentence, she demands that he be prohibited from approaching or communicating with one of the minors in the video for a period of five years and at a distance of 500 meters, as well as that he be prohibited from accessing the social network Twitter for the same time.
Furthermore, in terms of civil liability, prosecutor Susana Gisbert demands that the accused compensate the minor for whom she is requesting removal in the amount of 15,000 euros with the corresponding legal interest.
The events date back to May 19, 2022, when Seguí published on his Twitter account and on his Telegram channel a video made live the day before by a minor in which a conversation between her and two other minors was recorded. with their faces covered by a filter from the social network itself, about a sexual assault of which the girl had been a victim by a group of minors, a fact that was reported.
This video, which was initially published by the minor in her private sphere and of limited duration because it was an Instagram ‘story’, was broadcast by the accused, who had 201,000 followers on her Twitter account, with the following text: “Everything is wrong, she is not a girl of 12 but of 15 or 16, the sex was agreed upon and consensual and they did it to become famous on TV thanks to media outlets like you.”
This text – always according to the same indictment – was written and disseminated “with the intention of disparaging the victims of sexual assault due to their condition as such, because they are female adolescents with the knowledge that it could cause heated reactions both directed at them and at the victims of sexual crimes, as it actually occurred, becoming a ‘trending topic.'”
Likewise, that same day, after the video was published, the State of Alarm TV channel, broadcast on the YouTube platform, echoed the tweet, broadcasting the video under the name ‘Dismantling the false herd of Burjassot, with Cristina Seguí’, “where the accused stated that the minors were fabricating a false test and that they deserved to be beaten up by their parents.”
On this occasion the images were pixelated, but the audio remained intact. This video was also published on the Estado de Alarma TV program on its Twitter account @EstadoDAlarmaTV on May 20, 2022 with the title ‘Dismantling the false herd of Burjassot with Cristina Seguí’, having reached the figure of 6,307 viewers.
The video was removed from social networks at the request of the State Data Protection Agency. However, the accused, who had safeguarded her own tweets with the Tweetstamp tool, “republished a succession of linked tweets where the minors and the full resolution of the Data Protection Agency appeared.” The Internet links are currently disabled because they have been removed.
As a consequence of these events, the minor in the video suffered from post-traumatic stress aggravated by the dissemination of the publication and the criticism received, which made it necessary to change school, as well as psychological treatment, which she continues to receive, offering a profile totally maladjusted psychological that could lead to a deterioration of their mental health in the future.
For all these facts, the Valencia Prosecutor’s Office demands four and a half years in prison for Cristina Seguí and the opening of an oral trial before a Criminal Court.
