The presenter of Espejo Público, Susanna Griso, connected live yesterday with the mother of the arsonist who has been arrested in Murcia for burning nine containers in the city and for terrorizing his neighbors.

The detainee, who is in preventive detention, was recorded setting fire to some of those containers, so there is more than enough evidence that points to him as the author of the crime.

The Antena 3 magazine has revealed the young man’s illicit actions, but wanted to delve deeper into his story. The detainee in question is called Juanjo and is 32 years old. Although many people believe that he carries out these practices for pleasure and that he enjoys causing chaos, the man is an arsonist and suffers from borderline personality disorder.

While the residents of their city live in fear of a misfortune occurring, the young man’s parents, Juan and Pascuala, fight every day so that their descendant can have a future. Pascuala connected live with Griso’s program to explain to the audience that they are living in a very difficult situation and that they have even sold properties and gone into debt to finance different treatments and thus help the young man.

”It hurts me a lot, but my son has a very serious illness,” said the woman, later explaining that Juanjo needs to be in a specific clinic under supervision because he does not have the capacity to take medication. ”He is 32 years old but his coefficient is a child. of a 9-year-old boy,” he added later.

The woman wanted to make it clear that both she and her husband have been trying to incapacitate him for years, but that they have not received approval from any forensic doctor. “All the forensic doctors tell us that he distinguishes between good and evil,” she said and then gave her opinion and explained that she does not see it that way.

The woman said that living with her son has been an absolute nightmare on some occasions and that it has taken a toll on them, both physically and psychologically: “My husband has been in an ICU for a week because in one of these outbreaks, he went to him and he crushed his head.” However, as Pascuala said, when the young man realizes what he has done, he has a really bad time and has even gone so far as to self-harm and try to end his life.

His appearance on the Atresmedia program had the purpose of giving visibility and recognition to the problem, as well as asking for help: ”It is a very serious mental illness, we need support (…) This world does not understand it, it does not understand it.”
