The departure of Pedro Piqueras from Informativos Telecinco has not surprised anyone, but it leaves an important gap in the network where he has been for 17 years. It is not the first time that the presenter’s retirement has been put on the table, and it will already be a fact at 68 years old. This Thursday will be the journalist’s last news program with a farewell that promises many tears.

And after this goodbye, new faces arrive. Carlos Franganillo, who was in charge of the La 1 Newscast, will take over from the man from Albacete, and will keep the 9:00 p.m. slot from Monday to Friday. Even so, until his arrival at the beginning of the year, it will be Alba Lago who will take charge of everything.

But it is not the only important change that Paco Moreno, new news director, has decided to make at the network. And it has caused a real earthquake. Although Franganillo will occupy the weekday nights, Ángeles Blanco and Isabel Jiménez will be in charge of the 3:00 p.m. edition from Monday to Friday. With this, they have decided that Blanco will be the headliner at noon, with her being in charge of jumping to the evenings in the absence of the presenter.

And it was this decision that has generated many problems, specifically with one of them. As Informalia reports, close sources have assured that Jiménez is very unhappy with the decision. She herself would have repeated on several occasions that they promised her to be the presenter at 9:00 p.m. And not only have they not given it to her, but the ownership of the noons has fallen to her partner.

Finally, and after studying giving her La Mirada Crítica, Isabel has relented and will take charge of her new position. But there are more changes. With the departure of Ángeles Blanco on the weekends, this responsibility has fallen on David Cantero, José Ribagorda and Leticia Iglesias, without knowing very well, for the moment, what the role of each one will be.

With all this, Cantero is one of those who will suffer the most changes from this new stage, since he will go from presenting the after-dinner meal for five days a week to being in charge of Saturdays and Sundays.

Finally, the director of Informativos Telecinco has decided to entrust the morning edition to Laila Jiménez and Arancha Morales. Some changes that, without a doubt, will not leave anyone indifferent, and have been made with the aim of surpassing Vicente Vallés and his space on Antena 3.

All these changes will come hand in hand with a new and large set designed to incorporate technological advances and be able to leave behind the one that accompanied the chain for almost two decades. However, this reconstruction is generating more delays than expected and, according to Informalia, it will not see the light of day until February.
