Playmaker Isco Alarcón, who was hired last July by Betis until the conclusion of this season with another optional season if he played a certain number of games, has reached an agreement with the club to extend this relationship until June 2027.

The man from Malaga, who will turn 32 next April, had repeatedly stated that he was comfortable at Betis, in addition to showing great performance, and that his idea was to extend the contract, something that the club had also recognized.

Isco, as published this Saturday by the ABC newspaper of Seville, has closed this renewal until June 2027 and also that the parties plan to officially announce it this Christmas season.

The contract between Isco and Betis contemplated the automatic extension for one more campaign, until June 2025, if he played twenty-five official matches, of which he has already played twenty-three, so this requirement is very close to being met, although now the agreement is for two more campaigns, 2025-26 and 26-27.

The man from Malaga arrived at Betis seven months after his hasty departure from Sevilla, with whom he terminated his contract by mutual agreement just four and a half months after his arrival, endorsed by the then coach of this team, Julen Lopetegui, who was dismissed in the first third of that campaign.

Isco now wanted to relaunch his career with the help of Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini, with whom he gave great performance at Málaga between 2011 and 2013, which earned him a contract with Real Madrid and international status with the national team, with which has played 38 games.
