The Civil Guard of Burgos has detained a 31-year-old man at a bus station in Las Merindades, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health after seizing a total of 74 grams of hashish inside a backpack, according to reports. to Europa Press sources from the Armed Institute.
The events, now known, occurred last Friday, the result of a police device deployed in the facilities of a busy bus station in Las Merindades, with the aim of preserving citizen security and preventing and controlling the entry of prohibited substances into the region. .
A bus on the regular line that connects the cities of Bilbao and Burgos made a scheduled stop in this town, located in the north of the province.
It was then that a canine unit of the Command’s Cynological Service trained in the detection of narcotic substances, led by its handler, ‘marked the position’ in front of a backpack owned by one of the passengers on the transport.
Although its owner denied carrying any type of prohibited substance, the positive result of ‘Zape’, which is the name of the dog, was verified by members of the Corps, instructing the passenger to show its contents.
Among his few belongings, a compact, dark-colored substance was found in a plastic wrapper, compatible in texture and smell with hashish, as was later verified.
The substance, which weighed 74 grams, was seized, and the man was detained to be subsequently transferred to police stations and presented, along with the proceedings carried out, before the Villarcayo Investigative Court.
