The Petit Lake or Can Bogunyà swamp is located a short distance from the populous city of Terrassa, in Vallès Occidental, with 224,000 inhabitants, according to Idescat.

It is surprising to see a swamp with so much water at this time of year with so much drought throughout the country. Apparently it collected a lot in a storm in June 2023, as can be seen in this video, since it depends on the rains, because it does not feed on any permanent water course, as happens with river swamps. The reservoir has a small capacity, just over 10,000 cubic meters.

It is believed to have been built around 1907. And who built it? It is also not known, although it is possible that he was the owner of the Can Bogunyà farmhouse, perhaps to supply his extensive fields of crops.

There are also those who say that the waters of the reservoir wanted to be channeled to reach the neighboring city of Sabadell, which is not nonsense, since one of the main water mines in Terrassa, Vinyals, was already purchased (1872) by a such Andreu Marí and currently he still brings water to Sabadell.

The old Can Bogunyà farmhouse is in a park area. On the one hand, the Terrassa Agroforestry Park; on the other, the Audiovisual Park of Catalonia. Here nature preservation and cinematography coexist peacefully. These forests and their paths are a natural area, where the people of Vallès go to look for asparagus and mushrooms, play sports, cycle routes or hike.

Going on an excursion or walking around the Can Bogunyà reservoir, popularly known as Llac Petit, can be pleasant, given that the views and the site retain a strange beauty.
