The Contentious-Administrative Court number 2 of Barcelona has rejected the contentious-electoral appeal that Ciudadanos presented today against the list of Junts per Catalunya and the presence of former president Carles Puigdemont, who is the candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, in the same as number one for Barcelona.

The orange party had presented the appeal because the independence leader resides abroad, but the judge, in an 11-page resolution, has ratified the decision of the Electoral Board to include the former president and “confirms the contested administrative action for being in accordance with right”.

The Ciudadanos candidate, Carlos Carrizosa, had presented an appeal to a court this Wednesday to challenge the candidacy of Carles Puigdemont.

Carrizosa argues that the former president “has been residing in Belgium for seven years”, which is why, in his opinion, “his census registration does not correspond to reality”, convinced that Puigdemont has not registered in the registry of permanent residents abroad. for “being on the run from justice.”
