Pets have hidden blows when you least expect it. Their behavior can take surprising turns at the most ordinary moments. From a caress, a bark, a meow or a sound of affection, through caresses or negative reactions, at the slightest opportunity they catch us by surprise. Something similar happens at mealtime, when animals relax and show their friendliest side.
This is the case of this dog shared by the profile of X (Twitter), originally belonging to the TikTok account lunon0401. The dog is responsible for accompanying his stuffed friends every time he has to feed, in order to have the company of another being, even if it is inanimate. From bears, sheep and frogs to sharks, a pink elephant and even a large kangaroo with its calf.
The images have more than a million views on the micro-publication platform, as well as 30,000 likes and nearly 4,000 reposts. User reactions are equally or more affectionate than the images shown in the message. “My dog ??does the same thing but with whatever toy he’s playing at the moment, sometimes it’s a tennis ball, other times a stuffed raccoon or one of those balls made with knotted cord,” shares one user.
“In this humble account we bank to death this little dog who takes his stuffed friends to eat with him,” explained another user. “Only I noticed that the only animal (according to the dog) that eats from the ass is the elephant?” he shared jokingly. Likewise, there were those who questioned whether this movement was part of an affectionate gesture. According to some explanations, it would be more like an attempt to protect himself.
“I don’t know why he does it, but I, who have two cats, can attest that they like me to be present when they eat. I have come to think that this is because when an animal eats it is a time in which it feels unprotected and being with the herd offers it support and security. As if they wanted to say ‘don’t go far, I’m going to eat and I don’t see who’s coming from behind and you protect me’. Something like that. The same thing is crazy, but that’s the meaning I see in it. I’m not an ethologist or anything,” said one of the responses.
“We don’t deserve them, dogs are the greatest thing that ever happened to humanity”, “MINE DOES THE SAME (all this time I thought he was doing it so I wouldn’t take away the stuffed animals when he eats)” or “My chihuahuas always “When they go to sleep they put their stuffed animal aside, the poor thing doesn’t even have any stuffing” are other of the most notable responses.
