This year’s New Year’s Eve for Rafael Amargo will be anything but a conventional celebration. Held in the Soto del Real prison since last November 2 by order of the National Court of Madrid, due to accusations of belonging to a criminal organization and drug trafficking, the dancer faces a reality different from that on the stage. and applause to which he was accustomed.
This December 31, while the majority celebrates the turn of the year in freedom, Amargo, who is in provisional prison “due to flight risk and having repeatedly failed to comply with the obligation to sign every 15 days in the judicial body”, will have dinner in jail with a special menu.
According to what EL ESPAÑOL has had exclusive access to, three different menus have been prepared in Soto del Real, taking into account the dietary needs of the inmates. The goal of the prison is that, in some way, all inmates end up satisfied with the last supper of 2023.
As the portal has said, Amargo, who is awaiting the trial scheduled for April 8, 2024, will opt for the normal menu, although it is atypical for a date like this. The menu will consist of a star soup with chopped egg and chicken, followed by hors d’oeuvres that include a portion of tuna pie and two spring rolls.
The main course will be a beef entrecôte with fries. To finish, you can enjoy rice pudding and a bag with the traditional 12 grapes, essential for any Spanish New Year’s Eve dinner. Of course, without the possibility of toasting with alcohol.
For those who require a special diet by medical prescription, a second menu has been prepared. This includes the same star soup, although for diabetics it is replaced with zucchini cream. For the main course, two hard-boiled eggs and cauliflower sautéed with garlic, and entrecôte but this time accompanied by boiled potatoes. The dessert will be a natural yogurt, also accompanied by the 12 grapes.
The third menu, for vegetarians, offers a natural tropical salad, cauliflower with bechamel, two boiled eggs and a vegetable pizza, finishing with rice pudding and grapes.
