Tonight is one of the most special nights of the year. Everyone goes out with the intention of having more than a good time. But certain aspects must be taken into account so that the evening does not become a disappointment. In this sense, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) reminds us of several tips to prevent and solve problems that may affect your wallet.
To start, avoid problems when purchasing tickets. This organization remembers that said purchase must be made in trusted establishments or through intermediaries that provide absolute reliability. If possible, he emphasizes, it may be a good idea to buy them at the time of the party: this way you avoid problems such as cancellations, fake tickets…
Warns that if they are purchased online, you must make sure that it is done through the event organizing pages, on secure sites, reading the general conditions and keeping a copy of the transaction. Obviously, it advises avoiding resale.
The OCU also focuses on the security of the premises you go to. He points out that it is very important to pay attention to the security measures of the site where the event is held. Remember that the room must have at least two evacuation routes, which must be reflected and visible on a plan. It is advisable to locate the nearest emergency exit and make sure that it is practicable (that it has a panic bar and is not closed or obstructed).
In case of cancellation of the event, the user has their rights. “Demand your money,” they say from the OCU. If for any reason (not due to force majeure) the company changes the conditions (the location, the time, the services they offer…) or suspends the party, you can complain to the General Directorate of Consumer Affairs. In any case, the user has the right to receive a refund of what he paid.
If the organizer or venue does not have a license for the activity it promotes, if there is suspicion of fraud because fake tickets or more tickets than the permitted capacity have been sold, you must go to the police to complain. Of course, in order to assert all rights it is necessary to keep all documents.
One last piece of advice issued by the OCU and it is worth remembering. If you are going to drink, leave the car and use another alternative, for your safety and that of everyone.
There is a wide range of prices for tickets to the cotillion this New Year’s Eve. In the clubs of Catalonia, for example, it will range between 15 and 100 euros, with an average price of 25, although some tables in the VIP area of ??exclusive nightlife venues, with capacity for 15 people, will reach 20,000 euros.
The Catalan Federation of Associations of Restoration and Musical Activities (FECASARM) estimates that the occupancy of the premises will exceed 90% tonight in Barcelona, ??although several of them will hang the sign completely, in accordance with the rate of ticket sales of the last few days on the internet. In the nightclubs in inland and coastal towns, occupancy will be around 80%.
Data from this entity indicate that the cheapest table for a VIP area in Barcelona will be around 300 euros tonight.
The employers’ association considers that today “is the most important night for the sector” of the entire year and that the rate of advance ticket sales makes it “optimistic”, with “very good” forecasts.
Fecasarm, on the other hand, has reported to the Ministry of the Interior the organization of several New Year’s Eve parties without the corresponding license, such as one that is promoted to celebrate the cotillion in a castle in the Maresme region or a party at a climbing wall in Baix. Penedès. In this sense, the employers have requested more police presence to discourage attendance at them.
