During the last few days, different entrepreneurs, content creators, models and influencers who reside in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, have echoed on social networks the strong storm that has devastated the city.
One of the areas that has suffered the most from the consequences of the strong storm has been the city’s international airport. In a matter of minutes, the landing strips were completely flooded, as can be seen in the videos that some witnesses uploaded to platforms and social networks.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the airport decided to temporarily divert countless flights scheduled for that area until the weather conditions changed and work could resume normally.
One of the people who was present at the Dubai airport at the time of the heavy rains and winds is the model from the Canary Islands Celia Vallespir García, a young woman who intended to catch a plane in these conditions.
The girl shocked her more than 15,000 Instagram followers by uploading a video to her stories in which you can see how the airport runways became rivers of water in which you could barely see the undersides of the planes.
”It seems like the apocalypse,” said the girl, visibly worried about the state of the city in which she resides due to different work and professional commitments. After leaving the affected area, the girl managed to return to her house and, the next day, she showed the state of the streets in her neighborhood.
”I went out to see how my area was now that it’s not dangerous and I found a lot of cars that yesterday were stuck in the floods and their owners still haven’t been able to move,” the model wrote in a story explaining that hundreds of people were absolutely trapped and isolated due to the storm.
The model published a few minutes ago a series of images that show that, although the rains and storms have stopped for the moment, the city has been completely destroyed: there are lagoons in the streets, displaced and damaged cars, flooded shops and houses, etc
”This is how the roads are. I am recording this video from the taxi. Will I be able to get to the airport today? If I do, will my flight leave?” the young woman shared along with some chilling images of the water occupying every corner of the city.
