On November 7, 2019, one of the most commented cases of disappearance occurred in the media in recent years: that of Marta Calvo. The 25-year-old Valencian woman was last seen that day, after an early morning date in the town of Manuel, 50 kilometers from Valencia. The main suspect in the case was the man she was with: Colombian Jorge Ignacio Palma, who had a history of drug trafficking in Italy and Pamplona.

It was on December 4 that Palma surrendered to the Civil Guard and confessed to his murder. His initial statement completely distanced himself from the criminological profile, and he is currently accused of a crime and two other attempts. This case has been the protagonist of the first Code 10 program in 2024. Nacho Abad and David Alemán have had the opportunity to speak with the victim’s mother, Marisol Burón, who has been able to provide new information regarding what happened to her deceased daughter.

As he explained during his interview with Abad and Alemán, there would be more people involved in the case besides the mother. While she would know everything, she accuses different citizens of Manuel of having helped her get rid of the body in exchange for drugs. She insists that they lied to her face and continue to do so to this day. She stopped short of giving names to avoid problems, but she recalled that one of the witnesses in the case is accused of lying at trial.

She also confessed to having established a communication system with her daughter after confessing that she would become an escort to finance her own business: a nail beauty center. Burón pointed out that he wanted to know each and every one of her daughter’s steps after her announcement, and that fact allowed him to reach her confessed murderer. During the interview, Abad insisted that this gesture would end up saving many women, but the mother insisted that his daughter was responsible.

As a result of this system, one of the details that Burón highlighted was the contact he had with Palma after the disappearance of his daughter. Upon learning that his last connection to WhatsApp was around six in the morning, he showed up at Manuel and managed to have a small exchange with the murderer. A fact that he also contributed to And now Sonsoles, the Antena 3 show presented by Sonsoles Ónega. Burón confessed that, if he had entered the home as the man suggested, he might not have come out alive.

“I went looking for my daughter. My daughter sent me a location when she was with him, and seeing that she was not responding to WhatsApp and her number was out of coverage, I went in search of her. After 15 or 20 minutes of being there, this character opened the door for me, I asked about my daughter and she told me that he didn’t know any Marta. The feeling was apparently very good,” he commented. In Code 10, she highlighted that at no time did she look at him, which made her suspicious.
