The still general secretary of the PSPV, Ximo Puig, has gathered his parliamentary group to not waste time and “mark the political action for the coming weeks.” In front of a Council that regrets “still on vacation,” the leader of the Valencian socialists has outlined the first proposals of his party and has criticized the “absence of a project” of the current Government chaired by Carlos Mazón.
Along these lines, in his appearance before the media together with the new PSPV ombudsman in Les Corts, José Muñoz, Puig expressed his concern about the slowdown in employment growth in the Valencian Community, which “has moderated and is going down.” ”: “It is a good time to rethink your passive attitude towards the economy.”
Thus, Ximo Puig wanted to highlight that from 2015 to 2023 “we have managed to go from 1.6 million Social Security affiliates to 2.1 million” increasing employment by 29.4%. Furthermore, “a lot of progress has been made in youth employment, which has increased by 79%.”
Regarding the political action in Les Corts, Ximo Puig has advanced that the socialist group will ask for a Permanent Deputation so that the Minister of Health can appear and explain “the preventive measures and actions that are being taken in the face of this month’s health collapse.”
In addition, Ximo has also announced that next week the parliamentary group will hold a meeting to “reorganize the group in this new stage” and that the deputies who have become part of the socialist group “be integrated into the different areas.”
It must be kept in mind that before Puig’s departure, the parliamentary spokesperson, Rebeca Torró, and the deputy spokesperson, Arcadi España, already left their seats. At the end of the year, both were appointed Secretary of State of the Government of Spain. All of this, in the midst of a party renewal process that will culminate with the holding of an extraordinary congress in the month of February.
