Obtaining optimal working conditions in the world of hospitality and catering has become quite a challenge, and it is no coincidence that there is a lack of waiters: low salaries, few days of rest and intense working hours proliferate in our country, making unions are increasingly denouncing these situations.
Unfortunately, not all hoteliers are involved in the cause. Numerous outrageous situations continue to occur, where the owners of premises offer inhumane conditions. This has been demonstrated once again by the X account @soycamarero by sharing a conversation from a hotelier online.
The tweet. “Vacations,” says the Soycamarero account in a tweet along with an image of the conversation that has generated outrage on networks.
The conversation. “I have surgery on November 9. They will remove my turbinates because I can’t breathe well and I’m getting apnea, breathing through my mouth, and since I suffer from asthma, it’s greatly affecting my health and normal life,” says the waiter, showing that he’s not in working condition.
Final answer. After making his situation clear to him, the bar manager writes: “First of all. What do you want to tell me with that? Your vacation is from the 13th to the 19th,” to which he adds: “I will talk to the boss about it. I do have surgery, Honestly, I would take a vacation. I need to know how much time you need.”
Top comments. In a matter of days, the tweet has gone viral with all kinds of comments about it: “Do these people say this to coerce or do they really have a calling to be slaves?”, “There are people who think that we live to work,” or “We I’ll talk to the boss. Middle management that she thinks she is going to inherit at some point”, have been some of the most popular reactions.
