At least 25 people have been arrested for participating in the fight between stallholders that occurred today next to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid, which left eleven people injured, one of them seriously, police sources informed EFE.

Another 67 participants in the fight that broke out between two families of fairground vendors have also been identified and it is not ruled out that more arrests will occur.

The reason for the riot could have been, apparently, the organization of a fair.

The event took place late in the afternoon on Padre Damián Street, next to the Real Madrid stadium located in the Chamartín district.

After the brawl, the causes of which are being investigated, the Samur-Civil Protection has treated eleven injured people, five of them from stab wounds.

The most seriously injured is a 34-year-old man who has suffered a wound to the abdomen and has been transferred to the La Paz Hospital with a potentially serious prognosis, according to Emergencies Madrid.

The rest of those injured by knives have suffered, respectively, the amputation of the phalanx of a finger on their hand, the semi-putation of another phalanx, an injury to the thigh and another to the back. None of these injuries are particularly serious. The remaining six have suffered various bruises and cuts.

The National Police has taken charge of the investigation of the event.
