Jeffrey Epstein. A name that sends shivers down the spine when pronounced in high places in America. The former financial magnate and billionaire died on August 10, 2019 in a Manhattan prison, a month after being arrested on accusations of sex trafficking of minors. Little was known then about the circle that he had formed with characters of all kinds, to whom he provided girls with whom they slept and did all kinds of aberrations.

This Thursday, by order of Judge Loretta Preska, a multitude of documents related to the case have been published, including a list of people who would have shared verbal exchanges with him. Among the most notable names are former United States presidents such as Bill Clinton or Donald Trump, media figures such as Stephen Hawking and actors of the caliber of Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Cameron Diaz, Bruce Willis and Kevin Spacey.

Within this last section, a notorious interaction from four years ago has returned to the surface in relation to this case. This is a segment by the actor and comedian Ricky Gervais during the Golden Globes gala in 2020. The Englishman made all the Hollywood performers and executives who were present in the room stand on end, questioning them directly about the suicide of Jeffrey Epstein and calling them “perverts.”

“In this room are some of the most important film and television executives in the world, from different backgrounds. But they all have one thing in common: they are all terrified of Ronan Farrow. “He is coming for you…” he began. Farrow was the American journalist who uncovered the behavior of Harvey Weinstein at the time. Gervais did not stop at that point and continued making references to the amount of content that can be seen on Netflix.

“You can watch the entire first season of Afterlife. It is a series about a man who wants to commit suicide after his wife dies of cancer. However, he has a second season, so he obviously doesn’t commit suicide at the end, like Jeffrey Epstein,” he blurted out, to the awkward laughter of those present. Not content with that, he added an additional touch to the audience among which Alan Driver, Tom Hanks or Lauren Graham could be seen: “I know he’s your friend, but I don’t care…”.

The video published by Gaseta23 on “The faces, Juan, the faces,” pointed out one user, in reference to the mythical scene from Here there is no one who lives. “The way in which he was showing their clothes in the sun right in their faces and to top it all off, he told them that they were uneducated. A literal genius was Michael Scott,” indicated another comment, recalling the character from The Office.
