King Juan Carlos celebrated his 86th birthday yesterday in Abu Dhabi surrounded by his daughters, Elena and Cristina, and his closest friends, most of them from Spain, on a day that included a meal at the hotel where the guests were staying. The initiative for the celebration came from three of the closest friends of King Juan Carlos: the shipowner Pedro Campos, his host in Sanxenxo; Miguel Arias, owner of the Flanigan restaurant in Mallorca, and a friend for decades, and Dr. Eduardo Anitua, a specialist in stomatology and medical director of the Vitoria clinic where King Juan Carlos underwent his last medical check-ups.
