Despite the lack of people on the streets less than half an hour before the official start of the sales season, dozens of people were waiting just before ten in the morning to enter the El Corte Inglés shopping center on the central Madrid street. of Preciados, where, despite the low temperatures, they have waited to be the first of the sales season.

As explained by Alfredo Carvajal, director of the Corte Inglés on Preciados Street, after a good Christmas campaign, there are good prospects for the development of what is one of the most important times in terms of sales volume.
According to the Spanish Consumer Association (Asescon), the average expenditure during the winter sales period for each Spaniard will be 135 euros according to the results of a survey carried out on more than a thousand shoppers at the store.
The percentage of consumers who will buy on sale, according to the study, will be around 67% compared to 18% who say they will not buy anything. Furthermore, according to the study, 89% of those surveyed believe that the sales that begin these days will not provide any additional discount. Asescon also confirms that 92% of those surveyed will make their purchases in clothing, 1% in household appliances, 3% in computer products and 4% in other products.
