Jimbee Cartagena achieved the first title in its history by winning the Spanish Super Cup this afternoon in Jaén by beating Barcelona in the final (1-2). The Barça team took the lead very early on the scoreboard with a goal from Pito in the second minute after a play by Antonio. The tying goal would come immediately, in the fifth minute and with some luck. A shot from Motta passed between Pito’s legs and reduced the visibility of the Barça goalkeeper, Miquel Feixas. There were no more goals in the first half.
The negative note was given by Waltinho, who was forced to leave the game due to an injury to his right ankle. A tough setback for the team from the Region of Murcia.
The second began with a series of opportunities for Cartagena, which crashed again and again before Feixas’ saves. In the 29th minute the final goal would come on a volley from Tomaz that no longer found a response. Tomaz would be chosen the MVP of the match.
Barcelona began to attack desperately, the last five minutes with the player goalkeeper but Jimbee defended well. They were a Barça siege on the rival goal, but they lacked creativity and fang. There were plenty of chances to equalize, but between the lack of aim and Chemi, Jimbee’s goalkeeper, Barcelona missed the final.
The Jimbee found its revenge. Last season these same teams played in the Cup final and then Barcelona won (4-3).
