The City Council of the Madrid municipality of Las Rozas is going to fire 43 workers who worked in schools, senior centers, libraries and museums through the UTE Navalservice-Auxtegra. This is a subcontractor that provided personnel for the access control service to said public buildings and auxiliary functions in municipal offices.

CCOO has denounced that the cut affects “more than 60% of the workforce.” This group of workers already experienced a similar situation a few years ago, when the council awarded the company Proman the provision of these services. This company ended up in bankruptcy and the jobs were awarded to the new company.

Now, the situation is repeated and the council in the hands of the PP remains silent about these dismissals. At the moment, a negotiating process has been initiated for the termination employment regulation file (ERE), which began on January 5, 2024 and whose duration may not exceed 30 days, the expected execution date for layoffs. Some of the people affected have been performing these functions for 30 years.

CCOO has called an information meeting on January 16, as well as rallies in front of City Hall to express their displeasure. It rejects the elimination of these jobs and will try to minimize layoffs.
