The Community of Madrid has asked for caution and responsibility from citizens who plan to travel to the Madrid mountains this weekend, since a massive influx of people is expected to come to the area to enjoy the abundant snow that has fallen in the mountains of the region in recent days.

For this reason, as reported by the Madrid Executive through a statement, to guarantee the safety of visitors, the Madrid 112 Security and Emergency Agency (ASEM112) has arranged a preventive service from the Immediate Logistics Response Team of Civil Protection Volunteers Emergency Response (ERIVE), made up of eight personnel and four vehicles.

They are joined by the Special High Altitude Rescue Group of the Community of Madrid Firefighters (GERA), located in Navacerrada, prepared to respond in a few minutes to any situation that occurs in the area.

Likewise, the regional Executive has recommended the use of public transport to avoid crowds and traffic problems on the access roads to the ports of Navacerrada and Cotos, so, instead, the buses of the Regional Transport Consortium can be used. , which depart from the capital and other nearby municipalities, as well as Cercanías Renfe.

If using a private vehicle, drivers must arrive well in advance to park it in the parking lots, which are usually busy within a few hours on weekends.

For all this, the ASEM112 has given a series of recommendations, such as planning trips to the mountains, including the necessary materials, carrying the mobile phone battery fully charged, as well as the terminal protected from the cold, in addition to having the My11 application installed. .

On the other hand, it is advisable to have chains, whether textile or metal, and a full fuel tank, in addition to including a small shovel, warm clothing and a cell phone with a charger and sufficient battery in the trunk in case there is excess snow during the day. the route.

Likewise, the General Directorate of Traffic has activated a device of regulation and management measures at the accesses to these ports, as is the case of the Navacerrada, Cotos and Valdesquí car parks, which when they are complete, the road will be closed. M-601 and M-604.
