In a space of 1.8 million square meters located northeast of Torrevieja, between the city and the Natural Park of La Mata lagoon, the urbanization work on a project began about four months ago – the Partial Plan Sector 20 ” La Hoya” – designed more than twenty years ago, in the midst of brick expansion, which was paralyzed by the crisis and is now seeing the light.

This Friday, the main promoter of the project, the local company TM Grupo Inmobiliario, put its Lagoons Village by TM project on the market, a large residential complex in the area in which it will invest 374 million euros to build 1,800 homes.

Located between the Laguna Rosa and the Laguna Salada de la Mata de Torrevieja, on an area of ??264,000 m2, Lagoons Village by TM will be developed in 11 phases. The homes will have garden areas, swimming pools, jacuzzis, decorative lakes and paths inside the urbanization. The company is in charge of developing in the so-called La Hoya Partial Plan new roads and accesses, avenues and green areas, and a sports center for the home owners that will be equipped with a heated pool, indoor and outdoor gym, sports courts, spa , beauty and physiotherapy treatment rooms, among other services.

The urbanization will be built next to the Torrevieja International Auditorium, 400 meters from the Quirón Hospital. Pablo Serna, CEO of TM, assures that “Torrevieja is a reference in the residential tourism sector at a national and international level and our project will consolidate that position by promoting one of the most important urban developments in Spain. “We are fully convinced that the success of Lagoons by TM will reinforce the economic and social development of the area and consolidate our leadership in residential tourism.”

For this first development, called Laguna Rosa, the real estate company will allocate more than 63 million euros. It will house, according to company sources, a very varied type of housing with apartments, bungalows and villas. All have large outdoor spaces and common areas of 15,200 square meters. According to the Alicante firm, “the residential complex will enjoy excellent communications with both the N-332 and the future expansion of the CV-95.” The homes are already for sale and are scheduled to be delivered in July 2025.

Once the entire project is completed, the number of new residents would be around 18,000 people. Which represents around 20% of the current census of Torrevieja and a larger number of inhabitants than that in neighboring Guardamar del Segura. Environmental organizations such as Friends of the Southern Alicante Wetlands have criticized the plan for its possible impact on the nearby lagoon.
