The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, continues to denounce the agreements reached between the Government and Junts to approve the decree laws that were processed last week in Congress. And he does it not only for the content, but from the institutional point of view, since in his opinion the President of the Government has ignored the “legitimate president of the Generalitat, now”, and has recognized Puigdemont as president.

At an informative breakfast organized by the Nueva Economía Forum, the president of the PP complained that the majority of the regional presidents had requested a conference of presidents more than a month ago, and despite being legally required to convene it, they had not done so, and without However, there is “a president of the Generalitat, who is Puigdemont, although as they say he is in exile”, although Pedro Sánchez has made him “a valid interlocutor not only to talk about the issues that affect Catalonia, but also the State.”

With this, in Feijóo’s opinion, Puigdemont has achieved “his objective, to be recognized as president of the Generalitat”, which Aragonès regrets because “the rejection is very strong”, since the Government “has agreed with a party that does not “it governs the future of that autonomous community, and even the transfers that it will have to manage, and it finds out through the media.” For this reason, he said, one of his goals is that “someday we will overcome the democratic anomalies that my country is experiencing.”

Alberto Núñez Feijóo did not want to reveal the future he has prepared for the PP of Catalonia, and only announced that the pending congress will be in the second half of the year, after the Catalan, Basque and European elections. And regarding his project he advanced that it is about “talking about Catalans and not about Catalan politicians.” That means, he said, talking about the situation of Education in Catalonia, especially after the Pisa report; of the situation of the University, of healthcare and its surgical waiting lists, of the loss of productive fabric, of the “fiscal voracity” that exists in Catalonia, “the largest in Spain.”

To do this, the popular president assured, “we will re-establish the party in Catalonia and do what is appropriate,” because, he said, “Catalonia is a community that is decisive for the PP.” However, he did not want to advance who he is thinking of leading the party.

In his speech, Feijóo referred to what is happening in Spain, especially after what happened with the decree-laws of last week, and explained, resorting to political science, that the same thing that defines the “prisoner’s dilemma” does also of “the deer hunt” and the “chicken game.”

Well, for the president of the PP we are in the latter case, in which there are two kamikazes that go at full speed, head on, and whoever moves away loses. For him, until now, “at the moment of truth, Sánchez always deviates and Puigdemont wins” and the Government, in the words of Junts, “gives in and gives in”, so “it is already clear that politics is going to be decided.” at Waterloo” and the Government “will have to humiliate itself every day.

The leader of the PP wonders “what will be the next red line” that the Government of Pedro Sánchez skips to carry out the next initiative that he takes to Congress, “and no one now rules out that it could be pardons for ETA members with blood crimes “, because “the rational indications go in the opposite direction, with measures such as the repeal of the glorification of terrorism. A reflection that he makes because he considers that “the partners are increasingly asking for more and the Government is increasingly commanding less.”

During the intervention, and in the presence of the general secretary of the UGT, Pepe Álvarez, Alberto Núñez Feijóo referred to the increase in the Minimum Interprofessional Wage agreed by the second vice presidency of the Government and the unions, but not the employers’ association, and announced that it will lead to Congress an initiative so that the minimum income tax exemption is raised as much as the SMI has risen, because in the current situation “almost half of the increase goes to the state.”

It would be about raising the income tax-exempt section from 15,000 to 15,586, since 44% of the increase would go to the Government via taxes, “at a time when more is being collected than ever.” According to their data, just from the increase in the SMI, which affects 2.5 million workers, the State would earn 840 million euros, and that is why it requests that the exemption be raised by the same percentage in which the SMI is increased. because if not, the state would keep almost half of the increase in workers’ salaries, which companies pay.
