The PSPV-PSOE has warned today that the Consell de Mazón has reduced the staff of the Prosecutor’s Office by 30% to fight against gender violence and has regretted that “Mazón has taken the side of the abusers and not the victims.” This is what the spokesperson for Justice of the Socialist Group in Les Corts, Alicia Andújar, stated this Monday, calling it “unacceptable that Mazón allows his denialist councilor to eliminate resources to fight against the greatest scourge that we suffer as a society.”

In this sense, the socialist deputy has denounced that “in the same week the denialist minister Elisa Núñez has taken over 30% of the jobs of the specialized prosecutor’s office and has increased the list of senior officials of the Ministry” and has stressed that “it is quite a declaration of intentions”: “Don’t tell us that you don’t have money, because the denialist Minister has just appointed a third regional secretary in her department, who also has the same powers as the general director.”

The Ministry has responded that “it is completely false that the Ministry has suppressed specific reinforcements from that section.” “The elimination of some reinforcements is part of a general budget adjustment plan that affects judicial bodies and fiscal agencies throughout the CV and that, in general terms, represents a reduction of 20% of them and the maintenance of 80% than there were” they add.

They also affirm that this adjustment is due “to the fact that the Botánico government, with Gabriela Bravo, left the Department without sufficient funds to renew all of the reinforcement personnel.” “The new Consell has made a titanic effort to obtain funds, with which it has been possible to renew 80% of the reinforcements,” they add.
