The ASA, the English authority that governs advertising standards, has censored the Calvin Klein campaign starring singer FKA Twigs for being “excessively sexualized.” The ban has sparked a wave of indignation on social networks due to the double standards presented by the British entity, since the men’s campaign starring actor Jeremy Allen White – launched a few weeks ago – has not suffered any censorship.
The firm has expressed its rejection of the ASA’s decision and has defended that “the images were not vulgar”, while the victim of all this controversy, FKA Twigs, has assured on Instagram that she does not see herself as an “object stereotypical sexual, if not as a strong, beautiful black woman.
It has been quite a scandal in Italy that has triggered a legislative change not only in this country but also in Spain. The influencer Chiara Ferragni is being investigated for an alleged serious crime of fraud for marketing a pandoro and implying that a portion of the profits would go to charity. The case has promoted in both Italy and Spain a package of rules to improve transparency in the publications of public figures on social networks, with sanctions of up to 600,000 euros.
The Japanese company Uniqlo has denounced Shein Japan, Roadget Business and Fashion Choice, companies linked to the Chinese giant, for plagiarism. According to a statement made public this Tuesday, Uniqlo demands through the Tokyo District Court the “immediate cessation of sales of imitation products.” It refers to the marketing of one of its most viral bags, the Mary Popins model, which last year conquered social networks and has ended up becoming a timeless piece in the Uniqlo collection.
The Catalan catwalk brings forward its next edition and opens its application period. The 080 Barcelona Fashion Week, which in 2023 celebrated its 31st edition from May 2 to 5 and the 32nd from October 25 to 27, will arrive again at the Sant Pau Modernist venue on April 9 and will continue until the 12th of the same month.
Patek Philippe arrives on Paseo de Gracia with its first exclusive point of sale in Barcelona. The watch firm will soon open its establishment in the luxurious Mandarin residential building, located in Jardinets de Gracia.
