The poet, video artist and cultural agitator Ester Xargay died this Friday at the age of 63, as La Vanguardia has learned.
Xargay, an art graduate, stood out for her experimental desire and research in the audiovisual field. She studied in depth, along with other collaborators, the current Catalan poetic movement.
His work, whether in the form of a poem, performance or audiovisual, plays with language and is transgressive in its forms. He has published poems and video poems, among others, Els ángels soterrats (1990), Behind the fences (2000), Zooflèxia (the most true bestiary of all) (2007) or Fissura (2008).
Together with the poet Carles Hac Mor, he wrote plays such as Tirant lo Blanc la, Perfection is Fascist, or The Construction of Socialism, as well as the novels Pumpkin at All Traps or Free Love, Use and Abuse (2001).
His documentary El Grup de Treball received the Espais award for art criticism in 2000.
