Ángela Dobrowolski appears tomorrow in the Criminal Court No. 19 of Barcelona accused of a crime of injuries in the family environment. According to the case, at Easter 2019 she had a strong argument with her then husband and father of her children, the producer Josep Mª Mainat, which led to a violent attack: the prosecution maintains that Dobrowolski threw a wooden box at him, He hit him with a piano stool and, following him to the kitchen, grabbed a jar of jam to hit him on the left temple. Mainat has not claimed compensation for this unfortunate episode.
Already in January 2021, the Investigative Court No. 13 issued a 1,000-meter restraining order against Ángela and a prohibition on communicating with Mainat by any means. The prosecution has requested nine months in prison for her and a new restraining order and prohibition of communication for two years. The specific date on which the attack occurred will possibly be known during the oral hearing: for the moment, it is only known that it happened between April 12 and 21, 2019.
Although worrying, this is not the most serious criminal procedure that Ángela Dobrowolski must face. On July 15, she will begin her hearing, which will be tried for the crime of attempted murder, the penalty for which could reach 16 years in prison. The prosecution considers that she tried to end the life of her husband, from whom she was in separation proceedings, in the early hours of June 22 to 23, 2020 by injecting him with insulin to cause a hypoglycemic coma.
