I’m sharing in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia this series of photographs that I was able to capture of the nice herds of roe deer (cabirols) in Vilanova de Sau, in the region of Osona.
They can be seen in their natural habitat, making all kinds of movements, looking curiously at the camera and allowing themselves to be seen among the trees, as we see in this sequence of images.
This species of the Cervidae family is the smallest in Eurasia and its distribution area extends from western Europe to northern China.
With a height of about seventy-five centimeters at most and a weight of between twenty and thirty kilograms, its diet consists of the consumption of leaves from shrubs and low trees, as well as berries and young shoots.
It is an animal with a very high capacity for adaptation, which is why it can live both in closed forests and in wide meadows.
