Brunch venues are flourishing in Barcelona, ??introducing new concepts from other countries and recreating unforgettable classics. Brunch and The City, located at 103 Aragó Street, immerses us in the atmosphere of New York in the nineties, where Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda met for their Sunday brunch and to hide from the hustle and bustle of the city, in this way being able to chat about their daily lives, the ups and downs of work, couples… Since it opened in early January, it has been conquering the hearts of Sex and The City fans with its design, food and atmosphere New Yorker.

On the brick walls of the decorated premises hang paintings by modern painters available for purchase, and photos of the protagonists of the series that evoke the most iconic scenes. Henry, the owner, never tires of watching the series in search of inspiration for his new restaurant: “In a single night I created a menu full of international dishes that go beyond the typical eggs Benedict and sweet pancakes, and that are born from my associations with the protagonists.”

We owe Ray King, jazz musician and Carrie lover, a dish of crispy chicken and eggs, perfect for recovering after a night of partying. Thanks to the mysterious Alexander Petrovsky, a Russian artist, an alternative to pancakes called syrniki – a Russian cottage cheese dish served with sour cream and red berries – appeared on the menu. The classic Frankfurt sausage with a hint of truffle is a nod to Carrie’s latest boyfriend and great love, Mr.Big.

While waiting for food you can browse fashion magazines or go downstairs and enter a future art space that will host artistic events, such as book launches, designer pop-ups or workshops. In addition, next to the bathroom you will find a wall full of messages where each visitor can leave their mark, a sign or simply let off steam.

Brunch and The City remains open from Thursday to Monday, so be sure to enjoy extensive cuisine from different parts of the world and its excellent service. Plus, it’s pet friendly, so you can bring your pet!
