We share in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos this series of photographs captured this morning in Montgat Nord, in Maresme, at 8:08 am. You can see the first lights of the day, with a calm sea and a deserted beach, only with the trace of footprints.
In one of the snapshots you can see the city of Barcelona in the background, as well as other distinctive elements of this part of the coastline, such as the Three Chimneys of Sant Andrià del Besòs, although in this case, with perspective, forming a single silhouette.
You can see how the shades of the orange color of the sky are reflected in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, where practically no waves are seen on a very calm winter day from a meteorological point of view.
The orange line above the sea and around the sun is due to the candilazo, a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors ranging from pink to the most intense orange.
We can also observe some condensation trails in the sky. Airplanes form a vapor trail after the kerosene combustion process. The gases expelled by the engine come out at a much higher temperature than the outside temperature.
