Alberto Núñez Feijóo immerses himself fully in the Galician campaign, aware that the result obtained by the PP and his successor, Alfonso Rueda, will be read in a Spanish key and will affect his aspirations at the head of the PP. On Saturday he will be in Pontevedra, on the first day of the campaign, together with the president of the Xunta, at an event in the Plaza de Toros that aims to bring together 14,000 people.
Feijóo presented Alfonso Rueda this Monday at an informative breakfast organized by the newspaper La Razón. The PP is committed to Rueda, and that is why they gave him the floor at the meeting of the national Board of Directors of the PP, to support him, and that he thanked him for his help because “we are not worth more than the absolute majority”, and “we depend on us themselves.”
The president of the PP, like the president of the candidate of the BNG, which according to all the polls will be the second political force and its conclusion is clear, either the PP governs, or “the way of understanding” the Government, of “multiplying the difficulties”, as happens in ” Catalonia since the procès and the independentistas govern”, and that “the Government of Spain has taken over.”
A model, Feijóo warned, that “slows down progress, due to social division,” because the Government “promotes division, since it is only a group and interests of one party.” In contrast to that model, there is that of the PP, which is a model of stability, of trust, said the popular leader, because Alfonso Rueda and the PP represent “trust, security, certainty and guarantee.”
Alberto Núñez Feijóo stressed, therefore, that on February 18 “the Government of Galicia is decided”, but also two ways of understanding the Government”, and while some “allow a minority to impose its objective on a majority, in Galicia, the PP, governs for the majority.”
The president of the PP has a speech that tries to compare the government that would be the alternative to the PP, the one that would make up the BNG with the PSdeG-PSOE and Sumar and Podemos, if they obtain representation, with the government of the independence movement in Galicia, and of which considers that the government of Spain with Pedro Sánchez has been contaminated, and that will be a strong message of the campaign, or a PP Government, like the ones there have been with Núñez Feijóo and now with Rueda, or governments like those of Catalonia or the of Sanchez.
“There are regional governments that have been pioneers in fracturing, and that is the model that the BNG has adopted, and it is a fracturing model that has been transferred to Spain.” For this reason, Alberto Núñez Feijóo concludes that it is more necessary for national politics to resemble the Galician one than to bring to Galicia everything that does no good to the Spanish people.”
To explain Sánchez’s way of governing, Feijóo gave as an example that tomorrow the first law of the legislature will be approved, the amnesty law, “which has allowed him to be in the Government”, with which in his opinion “they make clear the priorities of their Government, which are themselves”, ignoring, he said, “the commitments of their words and the Spanish people.
