The National Police have arrested the parents of two children aged one and a half and four years old as alleged perpetrators of a crime of abandonment of minors in Soria, after appearing barefoot and in poor hygienic and sanitary conditions on a downtown street and testing positive for cocaine. in the medical tests performed at the Santa Bárbara hospital.

A couple who were walking on a street in downtown Soria this Sunday afternoon came across two young children, a boy and a girl, in a situation of lack of protection, the Government Subdelegation reported this Monday in a statement.

The minors were walking on the street barefoot and in poor hygienic and sanitary conditions, so the couple took them to the National Police Station, after waiting a moment in case their parents appeared.

The minors received initial care at police stations and then the police requested medical assistance so that they could undergo a medical examination. An ambulance picked them up at the police station and took them to the Pediatrics department of the Santa Bárbara hospital, where after carrying out various tests, a positive result for cocaine was detected in both cases.

Meanwhile, the Police carried out the appropriate investigations to identify and locate the parents, who have been arrested for a crime of child abandonment. After being placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court, acting as guard, his release was decreed and the guardianship of the two brothers has passed to the Junta de Castilla y León.
