First Dates has become one of the most popular television programs in Spain. While it is true that few singles fulfill the purpose of the show and find their better half on their dates, they star in iconic moments that entertain and amuse millions of people.
In the last episode of Cuatro’s space we had the opportunity to meet Adela, a simple woman who came from A Coruña willing to find a companion to share life with. Although she tried to hold back her emotion, the Galician couldn’t help but start crying when she greeted Carlos Sobera.
”How are you, Adela? Okay? ” the communicator said seconds before the woman burst into tears and hugged her chest. ”I remember my mother (…) I don’t know, I remember her. About being in Madrid… My mother died here in Madrid and every time I come… ” explained the 59-year-old woman while she implied that the fact of setting foot in the capital made her emotional.
The situation did not improve, since Sobera asked him if he at least still had his father alive: “Do you have a father either?” Unable to stop crying, Adela responded that her father died many years ago, back in 2010.
After promising the presenter that she was going to change her attitude and that she was going to have fun on the date, the single woman confessed that she is a woman in long-term relationships and that she hasn’t had any hope for someone for more than five years.
To have dinner with Adela, the Mediaset España program chose Berta, a strong woman who was looking for someone “to dominate her”, since she considers herself a girl who is “hard on the outside”, but “tender” ‘ inside.
”She has the air of women that I like, but I don’t like her physically,” Berta explained as soon as she met her date. Although they both went with the intention of finding someone with whom they could live adventures, travel and enjoy themselves, they quickly realized that they were not compatible.
Adela was so nervous that when her companion asked her to tell him something, she started talking about the Australian documentary she had seen the night before. When they talked about sex, the Galician woman was scandalized by Berta’s statements, who assured that she liked to try and experiment in bed: ”I have 7 or 8 sex toys (…) I like being spanked, grab me by the hair, let them roll over me with passion…”.
At one point during the date, Berta took the liberty of joking about Adela’s weight and both showed that they were not made for each other by dancing awkwardly to a reggaeton song.
In the final decision, they both agreed not to go on a second romantic date because they have very different tastes and couldn’t function as anything more than good friends.
