The workers of the Martín company, of the Ruiz Group, begin this Monday, the 22nd, an indefinite strike that will affect the intercity buses that provide service to towns in the southern part of the region such as Fuenlabrada, Móstoles, Getafe or Leganés, Europa reports. Press.
The Martín bus company committee has made this decision after having held numerous meetings with the company’s management without an agreement being possible and after having consulted the workers in an assembly.
Specifically, 45,000 users of these buses that connect Arroyomolinos, Móstoles, Moraleja de Enmedio, Fuenlabrada, Getafe and Léganes will be affected.
Among the reasons that have led to this call, explained by UGT and CC.OO., are “non-compliance” on the part of the company and “substantial modifications in working conditions.”
As indicated by the union section of CC.OO. In the company, the reasons that led us to call this action are “the schedules that are impossible to meet.” Thus, he explained that those currently established “do not adjust to the reality of the road, as well as the users.”
Likewise, the union has pointed out that “there are also no breaks to stretch one’s legs or have a coffee, without having to leave late, harming users and in some cases leading to confrontation with them, without mentioning the possible sanctions for fail to comply with schedules.”
Another reason, he pointed out, is the toilets in headboards. “Staff do not have a bathroom in the headboards where they can relieve themselves, and even less so for colleagues on certain days when they need more personal and intimate use of the bathroom,” the union organization noted.
In addition, they have highlighted that the facilities are “outdated, without any type of modernization and are even failing to comply with regulations on the safety and health of workers.”
Finally, they have stressed that the salary of office and administration staff has also been reduced and the work-life balance of working people is not respected.
The works council has apologized in advance to users for any inconvenience that may be caused to them.
