There is nothing more annoying than receiving a traffic ticket. And if not, tell ‘Fleximan’, a man whose identity has not been revealed who is causing more than a headache for the Italian police. Wrapped in a balaclava, this individual has sabotaged up to 15 radars on the roads of various regions of the Alpine country, such as Veneto, Piedmont, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, with his radial saw.

Social networks have even dared to imagine what this people’s hero could look like, thanks to the creation of prompters with artificial intelligence. In the following video, published on the Social Drive profile on That is, Fleximan is coming for you too.

The surprising images from the video surveillance cameras that bring the Carabineros to their heads have, however, caused a great social uproar among the local population. Fleximan is already a phenomenon that some have called a superhero without a cape for its particular way of protesting against the excessive financial penalties for drivers caught by these radars. In fact, the name Fleximan is due to the fact that ‘Flexi’ is the most popular brand of saws in Italy. There are even t-shirts sold with a logo similar to Superman’s with the letter ‘F’! As if flying over cities in search of radars.

Even some political leaders have shown some understanding towards Fleximan, such as Sarah Gaiani, mayor of Vilanova di Camposampiero, a municipality of 6,000 inhabitants in the province of Padua. Regarding the disabled radars in her area, “we must take into account people’s disagreement, we cannot ignore it” —she declared to the media—.

However, who for some is a hero is for others a real vandal. The director of Corriere della Sera, Gabriele Salini, has written in his newspaper against this ‘Robin Hood’ who takes justice into his own hands and has already been searched and captured by the Italian police. Despite everything, the journalist has criticized that radars are often installed for mere collection purposes, which is why Fleximan emerged as a response to abusive sanctions.
