A few hours ago the press conference took place for the last four artists who have not qualified for the grand final of the Benidorm Fest this Saturday. Marlena, Roger Padrós, Yoly Saa and Dellacruz have been the least voted by both the jury and the public, which is why they have not managed to pass the screening.
Even so, everyone has been very happy with the work they have done on stage and the efforts of all their teams. Minutes later, it was question time from the press, and it was there that the Catalan wanted to speak loud and clear.
A journalist did not hesitate to ask him about the language barrier in the event of his non-classification. “Evidently, there is still a bit of a language barrier, but I did not come to protest, I came to normalize. We continue working and the future is sure to shine,” he wanted to put on the table.
And the use of Catalan has not gone very well in these editions of the Benidorm Fest. Last year, Siderland also missed the mark with a song entirely in this language. Even so, Padrós believes that good work is being done to improve in that regard.
Another reason why he believes he has not made it to the final is because he has a signature song. “The author’s song is not in the best moment in this country and it is a type of genre that is difficult,” she said. Despite everything, she is very happy about the positive comments she has received after her performance.
For the jury, his role with El temps deserved a pass in the final. The Barcelona native took 55 points from the professional team, making it his fourth most voted song. Even so, the scores of the demoscopic vote and televoting placed it in fifth place, 12 votes away from qualifying.
And it is not surprising that good proposals have been left out of Saturday’s gala taking into account the high level of this second semi-final. Called “the most difficult”, this gala came out with the victory of the big favorites. On the one hand, St. Pedro won first place with 164 votes, seducing the jury and the public.
María Peláe attracted a total of 131 points. Jorge González, despite the controversy with the jury, which gave him the third worst score, collected 122 votes. And finally, Almácor got 115. Now, we just have to wait for the grand final to find out the winner.
