Last Saturday, February 3, one of the most anticipated moments by all Eurofans took place: the election of the Spanish representative for Eurovision 2024. Like every year, for only three years, Spanish Television once again organized the contest par excellence to choose to the person in charge of representing Spain in the next song festival, which will be held in Malmö, Sweden, on May 11.
Of the sixteen proposals chosen to perform in the contest, only a few managed to conquer the hearts of many of the program’s followers. One of those that caused a lot of furor even before the contest was that of Nebulossa. The duo formed by María Bas and Mark Dasousa appeared at the Benidorm Fest with their demanding Zorra, with which they made the entire audience vibrate.
The final was so close that until the last minutes of the program we did not know the winning proposal. With 156 points and the unanimity of the jury and the public, the Zorra performers were proclaimed the winners of the night, immediately becoming the Spanish representatives for the next Eurovision Song Contest.
However, the victory of the musical duo has generated a lot of excitement throughout the country, as is customary with this type of decisions. Many have been more than satisfied with the group and the song, but on the other hand, many others have been quite critical of the proposal. One of those who has had no qualms about openly saying what he thinks about the new Spanish representatives has been Alessandro Lequio on the program Vamos a Ver.
”The contest has rules and those rules should govern the classification. I have always understood that ‘Zorra’ is an insult, now it seems not. And another thing I don’t understand is why this lady is a hero for calling herself a bitch. If a man says this…we would be polishing the lyrics of the song,” declared the Telecinco collaborator.
”She says that if all these behaviors that I have deserve the label of slut, then call me,” Joaquín Prat responded bluntly. ”What I want to say is that one of the rules of the contest is that you cannot insult or use insulting words,” Lequio explained. ”The message is modern, evolution,” Alexia Rivas countered. ”A seven-year-old girl who listens to Eurovision stays with Zorra, she stays with the insult,” declared Alessandro Lequio. “Madonna also sang ‘bitch’…this group hasn’t discovered the world and Miley Cyrus also said ‘fuck me’,” replied Antonio Rossi.
