Farmers have planned protests in Catalonia for this Tuesday, after the mobilizations promoted by the agricultural sector in France, Belgium and Portugal.

The actions have been called by the territorial assemblies of Platform 6-F, in some cases together with the Unió de Pagesos union, and with the support of Asaja, Federation of Agrarian Cooperatives and Young Farmers and Ranchers of Catalonia (Jarc), they have informed the four associations in Europa Press this Monday.

According to the call for one of the concentrations in the province of Lleida, farmers demand a review of the Special Drought Plan, aid to improve competitiveness, “reciprocity” in imports and energy bonuses.

Also the simplification of bureaucratic procedures and access to the benefits of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

For the following Tuesday, February 13, Unió de Pagesos plans to cut off access to the Port of Tarragona as a symbol of the entry of foreign products into the market, and they have clarified that it is not an action against the port infrastructure.

Tarragona

In the province of Tarragona, farmers will meet at the Vila-rodona and Montblanc roundabouts at 9 a.m. and, at both points, they will cut off the AP-2 and the national highway.

They will also meet in the Village at 11 am, where they will go from Tortosa and Amposta, where they have met at 10 am.

And they will cut off the circulation of the N-420 and the C-12 as they pass through Ribera d’Ebre after meeting in Mora d’Ebre at 8 a.m. and in Falset and Gandesa at 8 a.m.

Lleida

In the province of Lleida, the protesters plan to cut the A-2 road in Fondarella in both directions of the march from 8 a.m. to midnight.

They have also called a rally in Vilaller at 10 a.m. and slow marches on the N-260 and N-145 roads from La Seu d’Urgell at 11 a.m.

Girona and Barcelona

In the province of Girona, the farmers have called on the protesters to gather in the Fontajau parking lot to go slowly towards the Government delegation and, after eating, they have called to cut the AP-7 motorway and the national A- 2.

In the province of Barcelona, ??they will gather at 8 o’clock in Granollers in front of the office of the Climate Action Department of the Generalitat and at 9 o’clock in Vic and Sant Fruitós del Bages.

They plan to cut the C-17 road as it passes through Mollet del Vallès at 12 noon and end the traffic interruption at around 6 p.m.
