The tractor units that took to the roads early this Tuesday in various parts of the Valencian Community have complicated traffic. The protests have arisen spontaneously, called through social networks, without communication in a timely manner to the Government Delegation. A new protest is expected this afternoon in the city of Valencia, in the San Isidro neighborhood, under the motto “6F United Farmers.”
In the province of Castellón, the farmers’ protest has caused traffic jams on the N-340 near Vila-real, as reported by the General Directorate of Traffic. In Valencia, the A-3 registers traffic jams of about three kilometers in both directions in Chiva and the northern access route to the capital is still closed from the CV-30 and the Civil Guard has established detours along Maestro Rodrigo Avenue. On the CV-50 at the height of L’Alcúdia and Alzira, access from the A-7 remains closed, and there is slow traffic on the A-35 with 4 kilometers of retention at the height of Moixent.
Traffic problems have caused the modification of the route of line 70 of the EMT of València, which ends at Alfahuir street and there changes direction at the roundabout at Ismael Merlo street and resumes its route towards La Fontsanta . The route has been restored 10 minutes ago.
According to Trànsit València, at 9:33 a.m. the entrance to the city from the CV-30 is still closed, the exit of the northern ring road from Camí de Montcada is closed, and from Alfahuir and Constitución there are intermittent traffic cuts. Exit from Joan XXIII towards the CV-30 is now allowed, but the cross roads are blocked.
Although La Unió Llauradora i Ramadera believe that “there are plenty of reasons to go out on the streets again and for several days,” neither this nor the other agricultural associations are calling for the protests that are taking place this Tuesday.
La Unió, together with the Valencian Association of Farmers (AVA-ASAJA), ASAJA Alicante, the Peasant Coordinator of the Valencian Country (CCPV-COAG) and the Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers (UPA-PV), with the support of the Cooperatives Agro-alimentàries of the Valencian Community already announced yesterday that tomorrow they will start a calendar of joint protests.
