The Montblanc City Council will abide by the ruling of the administrative litigation court number 1 of Tarragona and will once again place the Spanish flag on the town hall building.
The three flags – Catalan, Spanish and that of the municipality – will be displayed on the balcony before February 15.
Mayor Oriol Pallissó has said that it is time to “put aside political symbolism” and act to achieve the country’s independence.
Pallissó has assured that with the decision to execute the judicial resolution he does not betray his republican principles: “I don’t know if I am an asset or not, but I don’t want to assume disqualification.”
