Tamara Mellon, co-founder of Jimmy Choo, was the victim last summer of the theft of several pairs of the firm’s shoes worth a million dollars. Thanks to the work of the Los Angeles Police, the designer has recovered 85% of the pumps, boots and sandals.

This theft was reported in the press a few months ago but the unknown information to date was the owner of all these stolen shoes. The Police Department announced in a press release that they had caught criminals who had broken into a warehouse to steal all of this luxury footwear.

The alleged thieves have recently been identified thanks to their attempt to sell some of these models online. Among the stolen models were designs that had appeared in Sex and the City and other collector’s shoes that cost thousands of dollars.

Speaking to Page Six, Mellon regretted this event. “It was my Jimmy Choo archive, which is worth a million in really valuable things from my 16 years at the brand. If I had sold it, it would be worth much more,” said the designer, who co-founded the brand in 1996 and in 2011 decided to sell her actions to be able to create your own footwear brand.

A few years ago, Tamara Mellon confirmed in a report that she had up to three thousand pairs of shoes in her closet designed by herself and that her intention was to build a museum. “There are so many pairs of shoes, so many special moments,” said the businesswoman.

After recovering 85% of this stolen footwear, Mellon wanted to thank the Los Angeles Police Department for the work they have done in recent months. As she herself comments, last summer there was a wave of robberies in the area where she lives, an event that the police forces continue to investigate.
