This morning firefighters located the bodies of the three missing persons linked to the collapse of a residential building yesterday in Badalona. Shortly after 7 in the morning, city council sources confirmed the discovery and contacted the families to inform them of the fatal outcome.
The fatalities are a woman in her 50s and two men, in their 30s and 40s. Key to finding her has been the help of the canine unit and the meticulous work of some 45 emergency personnel who have been removing debris all night.
The three deceased people were registered in the building on Canigó Street and lived on three different floors.
As for the rest of the residents of the block, two families have been accommodated in a hotel and in an emergency and social emergency center in Barcelona. The rest have been able to spend the night at other relatives’ houses.
The residents of the adjacent buildings were already able to return to their homes yesterday afternoon, although some preferred to sleep in other places due to fear of another collapse.
